Hypnotherapy for Panic Attacks

Freedom from Panic Attacks with Hypnotherapy in Fife

A pain attack occurs due to our brain having an extreme reaction to a specific stress or anxiety. It's not at all uncommon for a panic attack to come completely out of the blue and without provocation. Although it is entirely possible that a panic attack can be the cause of an extreme reaction to a fear or phobia.
The symptoms of panic attacks are often the same as symptoms of anxiety. The difference is they are far more extreme reactions and so cause a much higher level of distress to the person concerned. It can be seen as the defence mechanism that reacts when the perception or reality of danger is present and generally, we will either be stop in our tracks, completely ‘frozen’ to the ground or more commonly, we will leave the situation we are in as fast as possible.

How does Hypnotherapy Help with Panic Attacks?

Panic attacks are defence mechanisms used by your subconscious to try and keep you safe and out of harms way. This is why the various therapies that use the conscious mind to try and overcome them, often fail or take long periods of time to produce the desired change.

By dealing directly with the subconscious, hypnotherapy can overwrite those images generated by your subconscious, and provide ways of accessing positive or happy feelings as an alternative.

Hypnotherapy can help use the most important thing to achieve in any panic situation – relaxation. I use hypnosis to create the relaxation and to make positive, beneficial suggestions, relating to the anxiety. We also look at the emotions behind the panic, so if you feel out of control or exhausted because of the panic attacks, we will work with that too.

Using a blend of deep relaxation hypnotherapy and NLP you can learn to perceive panic attacks in a very different light and can witness deep changes in your overall wellbeing, your ability to cope, your relationships, your self-confidence and your performance in all areas of your life.

People often find that their panic attacks will become less and less and the intensity of them also dramatically decrease, allowing for more intellectual control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
