Hypnotherapy can be used to help children overcome their problems, using safe and gentle techniques of hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming, which put the child back in control.
What happens in the sessions?
The first part of the session consists of a friendly chat with your child to determine what he or she doesn’t like about the problem and would like to change. The session is based on solutions and how to change thought patterns and behaviours to achieve goals.
The second part of the session is a lightly relaxing hypnosis session, using gentle techniques to enable your child to use his or her imagination, whilst giving encouraging suggestions for a positive outlook. It is similar to a guided daydream, full of positive suggestion to help them act out the desired behaviour in their imagination.
You are welcome to stay during the session, but often children interact in a more effective way if their parents leave the room for at least part of the session. After the session I can discuss your child’s progress and give an indication of how many sessions may be needed.
Please note that I only work with children over the ages of 12.
