Here is a wonderful little mental exercise to help you reconnect with feelings of confidence. It is a workout for your emotions.
Think back to a time when you felt really good about yourself and your life. It may have been during the start of a relationship, getting a new job, going on holiday somewhere or simply a great day you had.
Really experience that memory. Turn up the brightness, make sure that you are seeing it through your own eyes and not watching yourself. Turn up the sounds. Make everything colourful and vibrant.
Focus on that feeling of joy, confidence and happiness and allow it to radiate through every muscle, fibre and cell of your being.
Now imagine stepping out of that body and into the eyes of others around you. Watch yourself being confident and hear the positive things others are saying about you, how you look, how positive and confident you are.
Now take those good feelings back into your body, now think about the rest of your day, take a deep breath and open your eyes.
These thoughts and memories of confidence, assurance and pride are like seeds. If we give them sunlight and water they grow stronger and we feel better about ourselves and future choices.
